Piccolo Lessons
From beginner to advanced, learn to play the piccolo in the comfort of your home.

Eskay’s piccolo lessons allow students of all levels to explore the bright, expressive world of the smallest woodwind instrument! We welcome students starting around age 8 and up, guiding them step-by-step from fundamentals to advanced technique.
You’ll begin by mastering the proper fingerings, embouchure (how to hold your lips and mouth for the piccolo), breath control, and basic sight-reading. As you progress, our teachers introduce you to tone development, articulation, dynamics, ornamentation, and more. Along the way, you’ll explore a variety of musical styles—classical, orchestral excerpts, band literature, contemporary pieces, and solo repertoire.
Eskay’s instructors are also ready to help you prepare for performance, auditions, or competitions (e.g. NYSSMA). Additionally, we support students enrolled in school band or ensemble programs, helping you integrate your piccolo part with your other musical responsibilities.
In-Home Piccolo Lessons
One of the great advantages of learning in person is the personalized, one-on-one attention your child will receive. Eskay’s offers in-home piccolo lessons throughout Nassau County, including towns such as Syosset, Jericho & Plainview.
Lessons are available in 30-, 45-, or 60-minute increments, depending on your experience and goals. Beginners often start with 30 minutes, while developing students may benefit from 45 or 60 minute sessions to cover technique, repertoire, and musicality.
Your teacher will bring all necessary teaching materials, help you choose appropriate study repertoire, and tailor each lesson to your pace and schedule.
